Monday Monday Job Flashback Monday Monday
It's Monday morning...Saint Patricks Day. My moms Birthday. Green Day. I took a walk this morning with Michelle and Madison in downtown Glendora. I must say..it was the most beautiful day. The sky was bright blue with no clouds and even the crazy "gray" cat came to visit us on our walk. I don't like cats...but this one is cool. It seems to know when we are in the neighborhood and waits for us. Cats.
It's about 11am and I have been frantically making phone calls and sending emails to various churches and friends. No response. It's kind of funny that even though your world stops everyone else's world keeps going. Michelle and I feel like we are in a state of limbo. Trusting God for the future but having to wrestle through each day. It's been hard for me since I have never been without a paid job. Really...not since I was about 12 years old. In case your wondering..here is a "off the top of my head" list:
- Ages 12-15: Paper Boy for the Tribune/daily aluminum can collector, yes, I rummaged trash cans for cash
- Ages 15-16: Casa De Burrito -- professional dish washer, burrito creator
- Ages 16-18: Alpha Beta Courtesy Clerk, master of the mop, cardboard box crushing king
- Ages 18-19: Remax Mortgage cold calling sales (we were getting people out of their 11% rates back then)
- Ages 18-20: Focus on the Family (bookstore, Batch clerk, Returns department, Dr. Dobsons yes man)
- Ages 20-20: Camfel Productions Ministry, traveled western US, cheap motels and ate really bad fast food
- Ages 20-22: Clearwater Chemical Professial Pool Technician, Uniform = flip flops and short shorts hahah
- Ages 20-24: Internship with CCV, worked with a group of interns learning youth ministry
- Ages 22-25: Server at TGIFridays, master server and connoisseur of fine dining
- Ages 25-29: Full time Youth Pastor at CCV in San Dimas
- Ages 29-32: Youth Pastor in Portland Oregon...I miss the trees, pale skin, and lack of vitamin D
- Ages 32-38: Back serving at CCV
- Now --- leaping out in faith and trusting God
Thank You God for giving me the most incredible life and incredible years.

I heard cults are all the rage now, any ideas? Totally kidding but wanted you to know that I am praying for you and your family, and earnestly seek the strength in faith you and michelle have. Hmm how's this sound?....Male fashion model and author Bill Heydorn?? Just throwing out ideas, if you don't like them throw them right back...

Bill I was thinking when you put in your blog about wanting to do a teaching ministry. I was thinking, one of my co-worker (because he will live on forever in my career and in the life of the job), Randall Simmons. He had an unbelievedable teaching ministry. He would go out everyday and help so many people around him. He went to the places that so many people would dare never go because he heard the call of God and went there knowing that there were lives to be changed. With all that you have been blessed with and the blessing within you from the Lord, you could come join me in a ministry like none other. I love going out every day and being able to talk with people and help them with problems. I have the ability to go in their homes and talk with them about the struggles of life and try to give them wisdom and strength to get through their situation. You are an amazing man of God and when the door opens up for you to help people see the love and light of the Lord, you will jump through that door and miracles will happen. I do praise you also and your family for taking that step of faith so many are not willing to take due to fear. Your faith will bring your closer to God and the blessings for your faith in Him will be great, not for all to see, but for you and God to see. Continued prayer for you is in my heart and mind always my brother in Christ Jesus.

Bill,
I picked up a CD yesterday from my church that I am going to be mailing out to you in the next couple of days. It's a sermon that one of the pastor's at my church did a couple of weeks ago. He's gone through something similar, yet different in his journey in ministry. I pray you and Michelle will find comfort, hope and peace through his experiences. Through it I pray you will realize God's faithfulness even when things seem clouded and obscured.
LOVE YOU GUYS!

Bill,
You have been one of my constants in my walk with the Lord since I was very small. Since I joined CCV at age 8 you were there. Through elementary, junior high, high school, college, marriage and into the unknown, I was always able to watch you, Michelle and your family and draw strength in your combined faiths in what God is capable of doing. You're going to be fine...you're going to be more then fine! It's always through these crazy leaps of faith, that God really puts on a show I'm tellin ya! All my love and prayers and joyful wishes to you folks. My parents say hello and give their aloha as do the rest of the Namahoes. Good luck, good prayers and good times
Love always,
Leah Shephard
